Nasca and Pampas of Jumana’s lines and geoglyghs dates back to the Chavin era which is a period between (500-300BC).This periods are characterized by the proficiency of building figures by heaping stones together. This period is marked by the emergence of culture in the Andrean region. Their culture was also influenced by the formative middle late culture found in the Lea region. The Nasca and Pampas of Jumana’s geoglyphs covers an area of 450 km and is located in the Peruvian coastal plain. This place fascinates archeologists due to the size, quality, continuity of the lines which depict imaginary beings, stylish plants and living creatures and geometric figures. These drawings are believed to have had astronomical and ritualistic functions.
Chavin de Haunter is a pre-historic site that was home to one of the most advanced civilization in the pre-Incan era. It was built in 327 BC and is found in Huori which is a province of Ancash department. This place was inhabited by men and women who made sculptures, textiles and ceramics. In addition, it had people who knew architecture, hydraulics and acoustics. This magnificent building also believed to be a temple is referred to as ‘The castle’ by the local inhabitants in the area. It is made of stone and has complex but eye catching design and has a lot of passage ways and rooms. It has a narrow underground passage way which leads to a room with two idols and one of the idols is believed to have been worshiped by people who belonged to a secret cult. The other was used for worship. In one of the corridors in Chavin de Haunter, there is a stone built god known as The Lanzon Monolith. The stone figure is estimated to be 5 meters high. It has a face with bulging eyes with ferocious drawings depicting men, tigers, birds and snakes that appear to mixed impressions.
